This policy explains what information Eigh1 Puppies (www.eigh1puppies.com) collects when you visit, how it is used, and the choices you have. It covers this website only, not our Discord, Twitch, YouTube, or other social channels, which have their own policies.
The short version
- You can read everything on this site without an account.
- We count visits anonymously: which page was viewed, which site sent you, and a random ID stored in your browser. We do not store your IP address, name, or email for this.
- The site shows ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve and measure those ads, and you can turn off personalized ads at any time.
- Videos and the live stream come from YouTube and Twitch. YouTube only loads once you press play.
- We never sell your information.
What we collect
Visit statistics. Each time a page is viewed, the site records:
- the page address (for example /builds/stamina-necromancer-pve),
- the website that linked you here, if any (only its domain, such as discord.com),
- a campaign tag, if the link you followed had one (a utm_source value),
- a random visitor ID created by your browser the first time you visit, so repeat visits can be counted as one person,
- the date and time.
That is all. We do not record your IP address, location, device details, or anything that identifies you, and we do not combine these statistics with any other data. We use them only to see which guides people read and where visitors come from, so we can decide what to write next.
Team accounts. If you are a member of the site's editing team, we store your name, email address, chosen display name, and an encrypted password so you can sign in to the admin area. Visitors never need an account.
Messages you send us. If you contact us, we keep what you send so we can reply.
Advertising and Google AdSense
Eigh1 Puppies is supported by ads served by Google AdSense. When a page with ads loads, Google receives information from your browser, such as your IP address and the page you are viewing, and may read or set cookies.
- Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of many third party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info and, in the EU and UK, youronlinechoices.eu.
If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will not be based on your interests. You can learn more in How Google uses information from sites that use its services and How Google uses cookies in advertising. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalized ads are shown.
YouTube and Twitch
YouTube. Guide videos start as a still picture served by this site. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play. The player then comes from YouTube's privacy enhanced domain (youtube-nocookie.com), and Google's privacy policy applies to what YouTube collects from that point.
Twitch. While the channel is live, pages show the Twitch player, which loads directly from Twitch and may set Twitch cookies. When the channel is offline, nothing is loaded from Twitch. See the Twitch privacy notice.
Links to Discord, Metafy, and our social profiles take you to those sites, and their own policies apply there.
Cookies and browser storage
Eigh1 Puppies itself keeps only a few small items in your browser:
- Visitor ID (browser storage): the random ID used for the visit statistics above.
- Calculator picks (browser storage): what you selected in the penetration and crit damage calculators, so they are still there next time. They never leave your browser.
- Sign in cookie: set only for team members who log in to the admin area, so they stay signed in (up to 30 days).
Google AdSense and, while the stream is live, Twitch may set their own cookies as described above. You can clear or block cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time; the site keeps working without them.
Services that run the site
The site is hosted by Vercel, its content and visit statistics are stored with MongoDB Atlas, and uploaded images are stored on Amazon Web Services. Like any web host, Vercel processes standard request data (such as IP addresses) to deliver pages and keep the service secure. These providers handle data on our behalf and are not allowed to use it for their own purposes.
Your choices
- Turn off personalized ads through Google Ads Settings (linked above).
- Clear this site's data in your browser to reset your visitor ID and saved calculator picks.
- Use your browser's privacy settings or extensions to block cookies or tracking.
- Ask us to delete anything you sent us, or a team account, using the contact details below. Visit statistics carry no name or email, so we cannot look them up for one person.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
If what we collect changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
